Proud Poppy Clothing was created with one simple belief: beautiful, affordable and on-trend fashion should feel accessible and welcoming to women of all sizes. From size 6 through to size 30, our goal has always been to create a place where women can shop together, feel confident and find pieces they genuinely love.

More than clothing, Proud Poppy has always been about creating a welcoming place for women.

01 — Our Beginning

Sometimes you just have to go for it.

Proud Poppy Clothing launched in August 2019 when founder Tara finally decided to turn a long-held dream into something real.

An emergency nurse by trade, Tara was approaching the end of maternity leave after the birth of her son Brodie. It became a now-or-never moment — and a reminder that life is simply too short not to follow the ideas that matter to you.

What started as a dream for a small online fashion store became the beginning of something much bigger.

02 — Why Proud Poppy

A store where we could all shop together.

The idea for Proud Poppy came from a very personal place. As Tara's body changed, finding affordable, beautiful clothing that actually fit became increasingly difficult.

But it wasn't only women wearing larger sizes who felt excluded. Conversations with petite friends revealed exactly the same frustration at the other end of the size spectrum.

That experience shaped the heart of Proud Poppy: an inclusive fashion destination where style isn't reserved for one body type, and women don't have to shop in completely different worlds simply because they wear different sizes.

03 — How It Grew

From a small online dream to a growing community.

The original dream was simple: launch an online store and hopefully send out a few orders each week.

But the Proud Poppy community embraced the idea of inclusive, affordable fashion and the brand grew far beyond those first expectations.

That support continues to shape what Proud Poppy is today. Every order, every message and every woman who shares the journey has helped turn one idea into a community connected by confidence, colour and a shared love of fashion.

Proud Poppy began with a desire to change the experience women had when shopping for fashion — to make it more inclusive, more enjoyable and more positive.
